NOTICE TO WALNUT RESIDENTS: Effective for new billing, due on July 15 th, 2024, the garbage rate has been increased 50¢ to support the contract. If you have any questions please call the Village office at 815-379-2351.
Attention Walnut residents: Due to the recent holiday and severe winter storm, Garbage services will run on a one day delay this week. Garbage will be picked up on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
The Village of Walnut has issued a snow emergency. This is in effect from 12:00AM on Nov 29 till 3:00PM Nov 30th. This means all vehicles must be off the road during this time. Vehicles parked on the streets may be ticketed and or towed per Village ordinance.
Due to an issue with our iron filter, the drinking water in Walnut may be discolored. This should be resolved in a couple days. The water is completely safe to drink. This is just an iron breakthrough. Please allow water to run as this may help clear it. Thank you for...
