Electronic Recyling Event

Bureau County will offer another county-wide electronics recycling event for all Bureau County residents. The scheduled FREE event will be on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00am until 12:00 Noon. Please note: When the semi-collection trailer fills to capacity, the event will close. 

Location: Village of Walnut at the Public Works Building , 611 West North Street (near Route 92) , Walnut, IL 61376 

Event will continue whether rain or shine. A limit of 7 (seven) electronic items applies for the event and proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or other id with an address, may be required

Attention Walnut residents: Due to the recent holiday and severe winter storm, Garbage services will run on a one day delay this week. Garbage will be picked up on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

The Village of Walnut has issued a snow emergency. This is in effect from 12:00AM on Nov 29 till 3:00PM Nov 30th. This means all vehicles must be off the road during this time. Vehicles parked on the streets may be ticketed and or towed per Village ordinance.
